Shankar Nag

...one of my favorite actors. Shankar Nag had style and taste.

I watched Ondanondu Kaladalli once on TV sometime 80s and never got a chance to see it again. I still yearn to watch it again. I watched many of his movies. Songs from the movie Geeta are classy, they are still my favorite. His Malgudi Days are just unforgettable.

Yesterday I got an email from a Kannada group with a link to Shankar Nag's last interview. It's just audio, 23 minutes ... short. Never the less, I felt great listening to a genuine Kannada Kanmani.

Cosmos flowers

Cosmos is one of my favorite flowers, it's so simple yet beautiful.

Sunday evening at Botanical Garden at Karnatak University, I ventured into this patch of Cosmos plants, it was buzzing with bees, busy gathering nectar and spreading pollen.

Milestones in history

Not long back, trees and milestones were drivers' company on highways. But off late, with the widening of the highways, trees are chopped down and milestones are slowly becoming history.

The milestone reads;
Hebsur 34km
Dharwad 2km

The other face reads;
Haliyal 31km
Ganeshgudi 64 km

28 must be the state highway number.

This stone, I have no idea how long it's been standing here. But today might be the last day... close by was an excavator digging away this side to widen the road.

Rains

It's been raining continuously for the last... say 10 days. Yesterday was the only clear day. Now I feel it's rainy season.

Even the stream flowing between Hangarki and Hangarki is 3/4 full. A month ago, I thought that I would never see it flow this year. I'm relieved!

It's so nice to see plants and trees sway while it's raining.
