Pushya rain

As per Hindu calendar, Pushya rain started on July 19th and the following day i.e. 20th was the wettest day until then. Pushya rain should last until Aug-3rd.

That billboard has been around for a few weeks and it seemed to predict a good monsoon.

Desai Vaade, Ittigatti

This restored ancient building was discovered during our bicycling ride on 4th June 2023. This fortified house belongs to the Desai of Ittigatti, it's called as "Hanamathrao Vaade."

 

It was early morning when we saw it, the Vaade's main door was shut. Surely the interior would be interesting. Hoping to see the inside one of the days.

Robert Building, Subhash Road

Some of the oldest private buildings of Dharwad can be found in Malmaddi, Hosayellapur, and market area. One such building I see regularly is Robert Building on Subhash road. The ground floor of the building has four separate rooms, all are being used as warehouses by retail stores close by.

The plaque on this building says "Robert Building 1936." I assume this building was completed in 1936. If this remains as it is for another 13 years, it'll become a 100YO building.
