Mallikarjuna Gudi on Dharwad-Chikkamalligwad road is one of the return points of our cycling rides. This Shiva temple is just outside HIremalligwad village. We pause here for a few seconds, get a darshan of Shivalinga & Basavanna and then head towards Guddada Panduranga Devastana for a short break. This Shiva temple is an ancient one. Ancient sculptures of Linga and Basavanna can be seen here, both are damaged hence they have been replaced. Embedded into the side wall is a small tablet containing Kannada text. Based on these ancient artifacts, we can say that this temple has a long history.
