Robert Building, Subhash Road

Some of the oldest private buildings of Dharwad can be found in Malmaddi, Hosayellapur, and market area. One such building I see regularly is Robert Building on Subhash road. The ground floor of the building has four separate rooms, all are being used as warehouses by retail stores close by.

The plaque on this building says "Robert Building 1936." I assume this building was completed in 1936. If this remains as it is for another 13 years, it'll become a 100YO building.

KCC Bank clock tower

Karnataka Central Co-Operative Bank was established on November 23, 1916 under the leadership of Diwan Bahuddur Shantaveerappa Menasinakayi and Rao Bahaddur Rudragouda C Aratal. KCC Bank, Dharwad is famously known as Gadiyara Bank owing to its iconic clock tower which was constructed between 1954 and 1956.

The yellow colored metal watch tower is such an eyesore in front of this historic building.
