Ittangi Bhatti ~ Brick Factory

One January Sunday evening. This brickyard was not a very busy place, may be six or seven workers and one dog sleeping in the shade.

These are raw bricks laid out in the sun for drying. The moisture is brought to the lowest possible level before before baking them.




This is a stack of raw bricks arranged to be baked. the inside is smoldering mix of coal, sawdust and other flammable wastes. Layers are added as and when new bricks are produced.





A spider has found a place here to make a home.

These are baked bricks, ready for sale.
