The owner, most probably also its driver, has added a lot of extra fittings from front to rear. side to side and bottom to top. The interior would also equally done up. It looks like a private vehicle since it's registration number isn't displayed on the side. One thing is, how many of these addons are legal is the question.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhvyO46R4Ss7wpZTzxrVZY_UxKoMj0IXnw2f5URPhd5D0YKHxbANJvnftZqNAbxho_jwGsFC5_RKrs3ChGbNp0aso4V5xEfrD8L4h-mOp4w-DaXLkR-qMekOSlkDhF0YnRXAX7jYEiP8rlN0nmVQ-DV9MqaJeWGVwpxko94uUTNCGVcy7iL4O250oLDEI/s1200/01%20Force%20Trax%20Dharwad.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1200" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhvyO46R4Ss7wpZTzxrVZY_UxKoMj0IXnw2f5URPhd5D0YKHxbANJvnftZqNAbxho_jwGsFC5_RKrs3ChGbNp0aso4V5xEfrD8L4h-mOp4w-DaXLkR-qMekOSlkDhF0YnRXAX7jYEiP8rlN0nmVQ-DV9MqaJeWGVwpxko94uUTNCGVcy7iL4O250oLDEI/w400-h300/01%20Force%20Trax%20Dharwad.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><p>.........</p>siddeshwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05202482098840760884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-181277274462877343.post-29051163150891426872024-03-05T00:29:00.050+05:302024-03-05T08:19:48.848+05:30How to check HDBRTS travel card balance online<p>The full form of HDBRTS is Hubballi-Dharwad Bus Rapi Transport System. HBDRTS buses are called 'Chigari' meaning deer. These buses are meant to be as swift as deer. Commuters can wait for buses at exclusive bus-stops and travel in comfort. To travel in a BRTS bus one could purchase tickets at the stops or terminals, or purchase prepaid smart cards. BRTS smart card is called as Travel card. Daily commuters can purchase monthly passes.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLH1_-pNYsT0_8wQG1bNJqiiuIXoZ7YBawKcsC9Pwpgy2R8277TPelFLQJ8duL-iblYpcTxjAq4dImhffiy6WXpeKRYA90Xbnaybd6YMp1xIImbYoAue4w23oKtiKHM_j8pgsVpbVbCXgWZeD3E8s7z0in8s0lRKpT8RhzroOxIyiefRaApSDcwJvWlH4/s1200/HDBRTS%20Chigari%20Travel%20Card%2000.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="1200" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLH1_-pNYsT0_8wQG1bNJqiiuIXoZ7YBawKcsC9Pwpgy2R8277TPelFLQJ8duL-iblYpcTxjAq4dImhffiy6WXpeKRYA90Xbnaybd6YMp1xIImbYoAue4w23oKtiKHM_j8pgsVpbVbCXgWZeD3E8s7z0in8s0lRKpT8RhzroOxIyiefRaApSDcwJvWlH4/w400-h266/HDBRTS%20Chigari%20Travel%20Card%2000.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><p>Having used Travel card for the past two years, I've seen the improvement in the online services aspect. Earlier Travel card users had to add currency at the terminals or stops, now the same can be done online by card holders. Also one could check card balance even though Travel card FAQ says it must be done at a swiping machine. Below are the steps to check to check the balance online.</p><p>Login to <a href="https://www.hdbrts.com/en" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">HDBRTS</a> website.</p><p>Go to SMART CARD > TOP UP. Page displays user info and options.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifhmJSV1xsqkYdAh7sy_yGg_HJZFOedyGDCdFCbXNNvZEL0F0oPUehmfHnYBppXpiu9-ZiE3JR6Agx8u_jSbpALDJpipAV31vpS-kfDJmhlEVR-L8G_3jSr1G3rWdMUlJQ68C9NZv7dHyKT9REJXmuzV1sgJ-BCB6pMh-gUTFZ4MkE9WzLKjM4k9P7HbA/s1000/HDBRTS%20Chigari%20Travel%20Card%2001.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="645" data-original-width="1000" height="258" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifhmJSV1xsqkYdAh7sy_yGg_HJZFOedyGDCdFCbXNNvZEL0F0oPUehmfHnYBppXpiu9-ZiE3JR6Agx8u_jSbpALDJpipAV31vpS-kfDJmhlEVR-L8G_3jSr1G3rWdMUlJQ68C9NZv7dHyKT9REJXmuzV1sgJ-BCB6pMh-gUTFZ4MkE9WzLKjM4k9P7HbA/w400-h258/HDBRTS%20Chigari%20Travel%20Card%2001.png" width="400" /></a></div><p style="text-align: left;">To check Travel card balance, the card must be attached to BRTS user profile. If not done, click on 'Attach Card' to attach your travel card. I've seen them scamper up and down trees. One morning we had kept a tray of green-gram for sunning, the grains were scattered on the sit-out floor. I knew it was a squirrel's work. Despite sighting them often, I'd never caught them photographed them.</p><p>Jan 6, 2024, 9-05 AM. I was standing the balcony waving bye to Pushp on her way to work. I heard a shrill cry of a squirrel barely 8' away on the African Tulip tree. The squirrel was squeaking and waving it's bushy tail, looks like it was alarmed at the sight of a human so close by. I remained motionless, watching it for a minute or so, then it calmed down. I went in, grabbed my Canon 550D aimed the extended lens at the squirrel and got a few shots. Below are few clear ones with the squirrel in different positions.</p><p>The cute little creature's is always curious. Eye's watching my movements and it's nose sniffing furiously.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJpYzY-yhhhmmx2zdw1ybIvh1R0jYBOCD6csEufO6QtvKkmnoinLshii3K_XWWs9yDXntHFY3EbaMIcoJ6apvss3R9wWWc3FB1TxXYOuAwU2ldfYY2WbfzRnOxbjnFmKn6dpsX0-jPWZ5F_SaDKDPauwYbB_PsiASXc49D0zxocp1wKXVILfXHweWTb3o/s3443/01%20Squirrel%20on%20a%20African%20Tulip%20tree.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3443" data-original-width="2583" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJpYzY-yhhhmmx2zdw1ybIvh1R0jYBOCD6csEufO6QtvKkmnoinLshii3K_XWWs9yDXntHFY3EbaMIcoJ6apvss3R9wWWc3FB1TxXYOuAwU2ldfYY2WbfzRnOxbjnFmKn6dpsX0-jPWZ5F_SaDKDPauwYbB_PsiASXc49D0zxocp1wKXVILfXHweWTb3o/w300-h400/01%20Squirrel%20on%20a%20African%20Tulip%20tree.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><p style="text-align: left;">It was biting off something from the bark and swallowing it. Once he discovered that a squirrel had bored a hole through a stack of bedsheets to make a nest for it's babies. However, in this age of fast life, they have been to reduced to a mere routine. Most of us eat in a rush, talking or engrossed in phone or TV, while walking, and what not. When eating itself is a rush, you can imagine what has become of bathing... get wet, apply shampoo / soap and wash them off. Some people are a little more elaborate. I think most people are ignorant or simply neglecting these essential 'life' activities. I realized my mistakes quite late in life and trying to improve. Basically, it comes down to realizing the importance of these 'life essentials'. One needs to be focused & patient. Here are a few points to bear in mind.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJiHxulGFjvIVm5DwOxznAvhTp1DetPV1rChrCnqb9MeJCQeRFsfclLhiyBiQr6y8ptWpH79vAEzWlrX3kfEIiEJTKisMb2AxRARbMLk_ZQEx2xJvGRYC7_Q8iq2mtjYS5S_gIPQDQVLBRjT3kinL1ClIh0HItlHoykXtwvH0gF6lCSkl4iavU8_SpAhY/s1200/Bath%20time.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1200" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJiHxulGFjvIVm5DwOxznAvhTp1DetPV1rChrCnqb9MeJCQeRFsfclLhiyBiQr6y8ptWpH79vAEzWlrX3kfEIiEJTKisMb2AxRARbMLk_ZQEx2xJvGRYC7_Q8iq2mtjYS5S_gIPQDQVLBRjT3kinL1ClIh0HItlHoykXtwvH0gF6lCSkl4iavU8_SpAhY/w200-h150/Bath%20time.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><p>Bathe first and then eat. Never take bath within 4 hours after eating, of course the time gap depends on the type & quantity of food. Heavier food & heavier meal means a longer gap.</p><p>Early morning bath daily is a good habit. Multiple baths is better provided one has time and resources.</p><p>During a hot-water bath, wet your feet first and then move upwards gradually. This way blood rushes upwards towards the head, blood supply to the brain is not disrupted.</p><p>For a cold-water bath, pour water on top of the head, wetting the entire body in the process. When cold-water is poured on any part of the body, blood rushes towards that part. So when cold water touched the head, blood flows into the head and neck.</p><p>It is said that while bathing one must run their hands over the entire body at least three times. That itself is an exercise. Massaging your scalp with fingers and rubbing your skin with a natural scrub or a smooth-surfaced soap-sized pebble is beneficial. Try to be as vigorous as possible but take care not to hurt yourself. Coming to the feet area, use a rougher surface pebble to scrape your toes, soles and sides of the feet. Or one could do the same on a granite block if your bathroom floor has one. Vigorous massage will help dislodge dead skin, and also improve blood circulation. One might even build up an appetite.</p><p>Those are some of the points to start with. One could elaborate the bathing process in a sensible manner by understanding bodily requirements. For example; soaking in coconut / castor oil for an hour and then having a hot-water bath. Or applying aloe vera or turmeric-lime juice mix before a bath.</p><p>An active bath is like Dhyana (meditation), it's bound to boost your energy and sharpen your mind. So make the best of your bath-time!</p><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclaimer: this write-up is based on personal experiences and opinions, this is not to be taken as medical advise.<br /></span>.........</div>siddeshwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05202482098840760884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-181277274462877343.post-7739974244465660612024-01-02T00:29:00.117+05:302024-01-02T00:29:00.277+05:30Midnight bicycle-ride<p style="text-align: left;">The thought of a midnight ride occurred almost a year ago. The idea was to start the ride before midnight and end it after midnight. The objective of the exercise was ride across the date changeover and then see what date is assigned to the ride in Zeopoxa and Google Fit. A year went by as the idea waited action. The challenge was staying up that late since we go to bed by 9-15 pm and up by 4-30 am. On Dec 31st morning, after a 30+ km ride, while chatting over tea, I decided to complete this pending item, no matter what. An interesting English action movie of 1973 helped me stay awake. The ride started at 11-46 pm, I rode the main streets, went up to KCD Circle and returned, covering 7.2 km in 30 minutes. I went round KCD Circle at a minute past midnight, first half in 2023 and second half in 2024. Both Zeopoxa and Google Fit showed the ride under Jan 2024 which was my guess as well.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrALGDmtAQK-IrtUd4yKKIdVIEqWztUPJHykACPTYGxO1rWClwPZeg1HWDr25L4lH5g-gYEYyRIfpeJ3ogWu5FaOplZ0c2Sv-z13MFmS9R-crzc0rrG8ZwwE29zNvoaBxTxf4IqtNObZaZ39FiuMXx_pA6tnO6tHjp5CDzrPAbNCSCN917SBv3pZV9kqA/s1200/01%202024-01-01%20Bicycle%20ride%20Google%20Fit.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="800" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrALGDmtAQK-IrtUd4yKKIdVIEqWztUPJHykACPTYGxO1rWClwPZeg1HWDr25L4lH5g-gYEYyRIfpeJ3ogWu5FaOplZ0c2Sv-z13MFmS9R-crzc0rrG8ZwwE29zNvoaBxTxf4IqtNObZaZ39FiuMXx_pA6tnO6tHjp5CDzrPAbNCSCN917SBv3pZV9kqA/w266-h400/01%202024-01-01%20Bicycle%20ride%20Google%20Fit.png" width="266" /></a></div><p style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Having done this experiment, I literally rode into Year 2024.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMx1jgNqc5cXZowFVWvHK-5GYNADqZ74xPlj-KUIadCByYYqGvvUJW4tV7dv6RoC5kxumFjRfImoYHrsD4KK1z83jiVQMTssy628EJoVVbEsVuK2VdjtMxD7bzZs0kF2nOHjSawwuPiZMC8e1GS4dhyphenhyphenDNuI22n4zw9Hly9fQ7KRcm56JFHJe-I9Zv1U18/s1200/02%202024-01-01%20Bicycle%20ride%20Zeopoxa.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="800" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMx1jgNqc5cXZowFVWvHK-5GYNADqZ74xPlj-KUIadCByYYqGvvUJW4tV7dv6RoC5kxumFjRfImoYHrsD4KK1z83jiVQMTssy628EJoVVbEsVuK2VdjtMxD7bzZs0kF2nOHjSawwuPiZMC8e1GS4dhyphenhyphenDNuI22n4zw9Hly9fQ7KRcm56JFHJe-I9Zv1U18/w266-h400/02%202024-01-01%20Bicycle%20ride%20Zeopoxa.png" width="266" /></a></div><p>BTW, six days ago i.e. on Dec 25th, another long time task was completed- the <a href="https://lifeathangarki.blogspot.com/2023/12/100-km-cross-country-bicycle-ride.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">100 km cross-country ride</a>.</p><p>.........</p>siddeshwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05202482098840760884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-181277274462877343.post-44101249722982217752023-12-26T00:29:00.341+05:302023-12-26T14:44:18.810+05:30100 km cross-country bicycle ride<p>Almost everyday of December I had been thinking of a long distance ride. Which way to go was the question. Kusugal-Byahatti-Shivalli route requires a MTB because of bad stretches near Byahatti. My MTB needs a major service, so dropped that route. Kittur route requires good lights, both headlight and tail-lamps should last at least 4 hours which was manageable with my collection of lights. However, I was concerned of a backup. I thought of lapping a certain stretch on BRTS route but that wouldn't be fun. I kept on thinking until Dec 24th evening but told Pushpa that I'd a long ride in mind on 25th morning. I planned to start at 4 AM, set alarm for 3-15 AM and hit the sack.</p><p>Dec 25th morning. I woke up without the alarm and checked the phone, it was switched off. It was 3-30, I decided to go ahead, even if it meant a little late. I plugged in the charger letting the phone charge up while I got ready. By 3-55 AM, phone was 80% charged and the backup was at 100%. Told Pushpa that I might go towards her office or IIT and left. I pumped air into Montra's rear wheel, fixed the lights and started still unsure which side to go. At the main road, I turned left ...ride towards IIT would be nice in this weather. On entering NH48, I decided to head towards Belur Indl Area, a round-about route to IIT. At the industrial area exit, I thought "forget it, let me go towards Kittur." As I rode on, I felt traffic was more this time compared to the previous ride... <a href="https://lifeathangarki.blogspot.com/2022/02/dharwad-kittur-dharwad-bicycle-ride.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Dharwad-Kittur-Dharwad ride of Feb 2022</a>.</p><p>On downhill stretches, when the speed picked up, there was some rattling noise. I stopped for a minute at Venkatpur village to check, everything seemed okay. One possibility was a broken spoke or two which can be checked back home. Barring that stop, I rode nonstop to Kittur. About 6 km to go, the headlight indicator flashed red, I turned it off and rode on ...thanks to lights from slow moving trucks, they kept the road lit up well. However, the lamp had some energy left in it, I used it in darker stretches. I had to optimize to make it a nonstop ride. I entered the fort gate and exited, a symbolic gesture and came back to the highway, stopped at Chennamma Circle for this picture. It was 6-30 am and I was heading back towards Dharwad.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7Dx2ve54pcoiiyDLISba2_ppw5DylgD4CFZjPnDNcLakRqZxIyzGqCvm5OjiNUGuoTN37JrPC-X7Mh9NgHMxVkCbANmn3fGb30W5fOA6P-ljoUhmqPWh7P8AKVmZzIjCCzbyPbzrAoRAbwDFpQL6sxTQFssFjntSYU-eSkuK5zjFLl7nJbFSIdUJD2dM/s1200/01%20Rani%20Chennamma%20Circle%20Kittur%20Montra%20Downtown%202023-12-25.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1200" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7Dx2ve54pcoiiyDLISba2_ppw5DylgD4CFZjPnDNcLakRqZxIyzGqCvm5OjiNUGuoTN37JrPC-X7Mh9NgHMxVkCbANmn3fGb30W5fOA6P-ljoUhmqPWh7P8AKVmZzIjCCzbyPbzrAoRAbwDFpQL6sxTQFssFjntSYU-eSkuK5zjFLl7nJbFSIdUJD2dM/w400-h300/01%20Rani%20Chennamma%20Circle%20Kittur%20Montra%20Downtown%202023-12-25.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>On the return leg, I got a thought of making this a 100 km ride. For that to happen the ride had to be extended. I was thinking of options, can decide on the route by the time I arrived at Belur. Recalling my <a href="https://lifeathangarki.blogspot.com/2023/08/80km-bicycle-ride.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">80 km cross-country ride</a> on July 30th, I had ignored drinking water, as a result I had mild cramps and numbness in my legs. I decided not let that happen by stopping every 30 minutes for a gulp of H2O. The first stop was 15 minutes later than scheduled, I stopped next to a fuel bunk near Belur village. While I stretched and rested, a kitty appeared and started circling me and Montra, meowing softly. I played with it for a minute and left.<div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLV4Jk3-ittwDJJDcC29nsppNCWK97jSZRZm5plUdDu4X9CyFO17Klik_G-aY5LAlqlErRuU-30uWD9soIU3Wkm30jLIRTSAQlKDFnRVH1qDU1VzavtZA0iZ9H5B7WqVpfLo1S2sAmnqdaAckLitkyJpnMlBldX7y9PMtZczkphR-o98xitKA2E_9sPQM/s1200/02%20Montra%20Downtown%202023-12-25%20Belur%20Dharwad.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1200" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLV4Jk3-ittwDJJDcC29nsppNCWK97jSZRZm5plUdDu4X9CyFO17Klik_G-aY5LAlqlErRuU-30uWD9soIU3Wkm30jLIRTSAQlKDFnRVH1qDU1VzavtZA0iZ9H5B7WqVpfLo1S2sAmnqdaAckLitkyJpnMlBldX7y9PMtZczkphR-o98xitKA2E_9sPQM/w400-h300/02%20Montra%20Downtown%202023-12-25%20Belur%20Dharwad.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div>The next stop was on IIT road where I ran out of water. I went around IIT, a familiar route, and arrived at Guddada Anjaneya Gudi where I refilled the can. Since the water was salty I was hesitant to drink. The ride continued, I passed Kelageri and then reached Mugad. I bought a bottle of water and few peanut-jaggery candies. I rode out of the village, along the lake bank and stopped at Durgadevi Gudi which is on the lake bank. The temple was a perfect place to stop ...a bench, drinking water, cool breeze and a nice sight. </div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsWRksDBin4eq7kO-Bt95DR3LwRqV0QWbG62cvIwsmC4ab31vyQP6zxsWuISwdgVrwLqJuxzL6LnF9yJHkQlvOgZj7tYjoEMLGjfQPa38LZAjJ3Puh0aOEfJCvuTLCdKX3BAtiCZRIMjXzuDNSYHXbBZf6M_Mr9Cd5qDaYG7gGwN4Mulb-hit_XYNn3Nw/s1200/03%20Mugad%20lake%202023-12-25.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1200" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsWRksDBin4eq7kO-Bt95DR3LwRqV0QWbG62cvIwsmC4ab31vyQP6zxsWuISwdgVrwLqJuxzL6LnF9yJHkQlvOgZj7tYjoEMLGjfQPa38LZAjJ3Puh0aOEfJCvuTLCdKX3BAtiCZRIMjXzuDNSYHXbBZf6M_Mr9Cd5qDaYG7gGwN4Mulb-hit_XYNn3Nw/w400-h300/03%20Mugad%20lake%202023-12-25.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>On washing my face I realized the amount of salt I had lost. The candies were delicious and energizing. From here, the next 8 km is a uphill stretch, it's going to be crawl. Indeed it was but I kept my focus on. The next stop was at my maternal uncle's place. My aunt asked me to have breakfast, I declined and moved on. The last few kilometers were slow because I inside streets to avoid traffic. The inside roads are ups and downs. I realized the chain and gears need oiling badly. Also they had taken on lot of dust, Montra needs a nice pressure wash.</div><div>I was elated when Zeopoxa showed 102 km in front of out apartment gate. Finally a 100 km ride happened. Here are a few screen-shots from Zeopoxa. Google Fit had stopped tracking for some reason, on analyzing the issue, it looked like the software mistook this bicycle ride for a motorcycle ride! I deleted the listing and made a manual entry but the app is still hooked on to older data. I'll check again, maybe there's a way to fix it.</div><div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVlx43dEShVRJ5medqYHaPbpZ4XM5Ko0fEiSyMSoNJ4QBwYAgpgsPpr-DSxUesUDPmshruWIIchyphenhypheneMwNZDbur1hgoSy_zJIaJN0IBtPFnnu_g1hngOznEJi4KbPLzIPQGIACEHqMc1ADbA345_hDovwTX34Af8HtSaZZHFdmMZuXT6UI-3-OLyMg_XnXg/s1200/04%20Zeopoxa%20Bicycle%20Ride%202023-12-25.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1200" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVlx43dEShVRJ5medqYHaPbpZ4XM5Ko0fEiSyMSoNJ4QBwYAgpgsPpr-DSxUesUDPmshruWIIchyphenhypheneMwNZDbur1hgoSy_zJIaJN0IBtPFnnu_g1hngOznEJi4KbPLzIPQGIACEHqMc1ADbA345_hDovwTX34Af8HtSaZZHFdmMZuXT6UI-3-OLyMg_XnXg/w400-h300/04%20Zeopoxa%20Bicycle%20Ride%202023-12-25.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiaNFnuO_q_G0XroeSoYG8khVMan4GOux-MrzVU32eyvIJObSRsTKHzYvfl-Db-aZOHo6rQ4qT-8zsAu_ihWZxcq1YDi5w_71YX-XExZQcgcT2v6IK7EDvkefN8EfpHWn-3eBNmAQiRdhAITzv3ekHN88JuU8nNBDWWxxXM6oF2Rb_OlMtwdBMOwRFgQQ/s1200/05%20Zeopoxa%20Bicycle%20Ride%202023-12-25.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1200" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiaNFnuO_q_G0XroeSoYG8khVMan4GOux-MrzVU32eyvIJObSRsTKHzYvfl-Db-aZOHo6rQ4qT-8zsAu_ihWZxcq1YDi5w_71YX-XExZQcgcT2v6IK7EDvkefN8EfpHWn-3eBNmAQiRdhAITzv3ekHN88JuU8nNBDWWxxXM6oF2Rb_OlMtwdBMOwRFgQQ/w400-h300/05%20Zeopoxa%20Bicycle%20Ride%202023-12-25.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><p>.........</p></div>siddeshwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05202482098840760884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-181277274462877343.post-35829041979213717342023-12-12T00:29:00.048+05:302023-12-12T00:29:00.252+05:30Spotted Owl<p style="text-align: left;">A spotted owl has been visiting the African Tulip tree next to our apartment for the past few months. I've suffered acidity for a long time. Several of my acquaintances complain, at least one of them had to be admitted to a hospital for treatment. After having suffered for years, I did some experimenting and arrived a possible solution.</p><div style="text-align: left;"><p style="text-align: left;">What causes acidity?</p><p style="text-align: left;">Food that doesn't get along with our digestive system is the primary cause according to my understanding. There are other reasons for acidity: Eating in a rush, not chewing food sufficiently. Some may not be drinking water sufficiently. From my personal experience, even aerosol sprays can cause acidity. When we inhale deodorant fumes they somehow mess up our tummy. There could be reasons out of our control- food contaminated with toxic chemicals affect our health in more ways than one.</p></div><p style="text-align: left;">Banana's often caused acidity for me. After pondering over it, I felt bananas ripened using chemicals was the cause. Then I found that green chilly was the major culprit. I abstained from green chilly for months to confirm this. On discovering it, we have replaced green chilly with dry red chilly, sometimes pepper if the recipe allows it. Then coffee is another enemy of mine. Coming to tea, I'm okay with one mug early in the mornings. However, even a small cup of tea during late afternoon kicked up acidity in matter of minutes. So, I have tea in the mornings only. Having sweets for lunch followed by a long nap also caused acidity on waking up. Alcohol and cigarettes are big time culprits. Lack of sleep disturbs our body in more than one ways. There are a myriad of causes, one has to take a wide n deep look what we consume, our lifestyle, and identify the culprits.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbbBhc_vGGxnjxMtf6suxR0dY9CYpNOPjRgfDuKcTXiWYgVzb0awRS7xcl3AoHSdX0VenOXnl9_hh0Qi4J9xdQw5LrHF5JSxu6mleSaUCIx9Egiub9H85oJI5Qn-d326Oy8NHcoBW3fMBFJv_QaEZf6vhb5RAy_OYrn0DSG3xuCMkRw53ps1BGXOwgqwA/s900/Acidity%201.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="how to control acid reflux" border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="900" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbbBhc_vGGxnjxMtf6suxR0dY9CYpNOPjRgfDuKcTXiWYgVzb0awRS7xcl3AoHSdX0VenOXnl9_hh0Qi4J9xdQw5LrHF5JSxu6mleSaUCIx9Egiub9H85oJI5Qn-d326Oy8NHcoBW3fMBFJv_QaEZf6vhb5RAy_OYrn0DSG3xuCMkRw53ps1BGXOwgqwA/w320-h213/Acidity%201.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>How to prevent or control acidity?</p><p>Once you know the cause or causes, appropriate action is a must. Even if you suspect something, you have to act. As the saying goes "prevention is better than cure" our first step is to find ways to prevent acidity by either avoiding or abstaining from the culprit. Next is to consume friendly food and adopting healthy habits. Having a fresh fruit like papaya or a cucumber a few minutes before a meal. Chopped radish & radish leaves are helpful. Eat food in small morsels or bites, chew thoroughly before swallowing. Avoid distractions while eating food like mobile phones, TV, talking, etc. Eat food peacefully. Chewing a few grains of Ajwan or Jeera after a meal aides digestion, they work like mouth fresheners as well. Avoid sugary or mint flavored mouth fresheners.</p><p>To mitigate discomfort caused by acidity, drink lots of water. Sip hot / warm / room temperature water (whichever is comfortable for you) as much quantity as you can. When you sip water, make sure to hold water in mouth for a few seconds until saliva mixes and then swallow the water. Saliva not only helps digestion but also heals.</p><p>Apart from food and lifestyle, the way you lie down on the bed matters. Ideally one must allow at least 60 minutes between the end of a meal to lying down for a nap. Your position too matters- lie down on the left side only. Lying on the back with a full tummy pushes fluids out of the tummy towards the esophagus. One could lie on the back or turn to the right side after 3 to 4 hours.</p><p>Before closing this article, I would like to add couple more points. Some people are habituated to lozenges to mask cigarette odor or bad breath. Menthol flavored lozenges can damage mucous lining in our esophagus. Please stop chewing them, instead go for natural ways like chewing a clove or cardamom or simply rinse your mouth with water. If you can get salt-water, it works better than a plain water rinse. The other point is to avoid antacids as much as possible. Drinking water slowly over a prolonged period is a safe alternate to antacids.</p><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span>Disclaimer: this is a suggestion to prevent or control acidity, this is not a cure. This suggestion is based on personal experience, this is not to be taken as medical advise.<br /></span>.........</span></div>siddeshwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05202482098840760884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-181277274462877343.post-41877443043099343852023-10-31T00:29:00.000+05:302023-10-31T00:29:00.145+05:30snack art bicycle<p></p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2GQ0sjge_OI35HSTv9utfgrfO5amFGkWg4PAIyw87BPovIBKVkewq43zO5zSaYzDEzx50AAqwV8YXVf8Wg9Gp085jYmcnB2plsToTwHMELZsRzs2RLeyie2tn2WIqAQSQTAZmLjWnF8WGkoqiqlHetwlq3SucnxBcCrHGJkKPZjJhWIUYzRs8n-foBwo/s1200/Snack%20Bicycle.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1200" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2GQ0sjge_OI35HSTv9utfgrfO5amFGkWg4PAIyw87BPovIBKVkewq43zO5zSaYzDEzx50AAqwV8YXVf8Wg9Gp085jYmcnB2plsToTwHMELZsRzs2RLeyie2tn2WIqAQSQTAZmLjWnF8WGkoqiqlHetwlq3SucnxBcCrHGJkKPZjJhWIUYzRs8n-foBwo/w400-h300/Snack%20Bicycle.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Bicycle drawing made of flake wheels and tapioca sticks.</span></td></tr></tbody></table>.........<br /> <p></p>siddeshwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05202482098840760884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-181277274462877343.post-86407042926016845792023-10-24T00:29:00.000+05:302023-10-24T15:55:43.025+05:30love is like a chineez mobyl<p></p><p style="text-align: left;"> Saw this quote on an autorickshaw couple of days ago.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2Tfg4khn0zSmBWPrL4t11irdtAnXkWHcK5Md1znPtzFNwvoH8rCtvV9EH18RyZh-XVwtSgmYFHD3fcqg50qleCtIweJTz-Kc1PMO1z6oCipiWOMeLUDzASAqVCECivIooC21RqcAWPuHInJkAifCoa9BEKAPZ0wjFqW3T5q0Tbsdbm-nLmHKg-8ThNNc/s1200/Love%20is%20like%20a%20Chinese%20mobile.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1200" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2Tfg4khn0zSmBWPrL4t11irdtAnXkWHcK5Md1znPtzFNwvoH8rCtvV9EH18RyZh-XVwtSgmYFHD3fcqg50qleCtIweJTz-Kc1PMO1z6oCipiWOMeLUDzASAqVCECivIooC21RqcAWPuHInJkAifCoa9BEKAPZ0wjFqW3T5q0Tbsdbm-nLmHKg-8ThNNc/w400-h300/Love%20is%20like%20a%20Chinese%20mobile.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>.........<p></p>siddeshwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05202482098840760884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-181277274462877343.post-2521325113220172522023-10-17T00:29:00.001+05:302023-10-17T00:29:00.153+05:30Goldfish<div style="text-align: left;">This photo was shot on the new years day of 2008 at a popular restaurant of Dharwad.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqHCeLh290N-A_8kjz1T3_PRmKuYeLdQezs_VKr1YqfeCzFc8X4WGQIZgkqIuINLA19WURkPoewVHY6Cr41mEj58C0J24nFf-sfP8TwqEf0er5ixNMQLPG8Qu1qF6cimGB4PNDA8fl_TuGTclaDBHtyCOsbOljLxLQv1ngSxIKkLtiZTy0TDfJHsWpTlQ/s1200/01%20Goldfish%20at%20Ozone%20Restaurant.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="1200" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqHCeLh290N-A_8kjz1T3_PRmKuYeLdQezs_VKr1YqfeCzFc8X4WGQIZgkqIuINLA19WURkPoewVHY6Cr41mEj58C0J24nFf-sfP8TwqEf0er5ixNMQLPG8Qu1qF6cimGB4PNDA8fl_TuGTclaDBHtyCOsbOljLxLQv1ngSxIKkLtiZTy0TDfJHsWpTlQ/w400-h266/01%20Goldfish%20at%20Ozone%20Restaurant.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;">.........</div>siddeshwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05202482098840760884noreply@blogger.com0Hubli - Dharwad Hwy, Ambedkar Nagar, Yalakki Shettar Colony, Dharwad, Karnataka 580006, India15.4306796 75.0301133-12.879554236178846 39.8738633 43.740913436178843 110.1863633tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-181277274462877343.post-62321601390203953472023-10-10T00:29:00.008+05:302023-10-10T00:29:00.145+05:30Hakkaraki Pallya<div style="text-align: left;">Hakkaraki is one of the edible plants.
